Some unexplored achievements in the life of Julio Licinio

Julio Licinio is currently a Senior Vice President for academic and health affairs. He is also the Executive Dean of the college of medicine, Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Pharmacology, and Medicine at State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. His area of expertise is pharmacogenomics as well as the biology of depression. He has even edited some of the books based on these topics. Julio Licinio has lived in USA(United States of America) for about 25 years. He is originally registered as the specialist in psychiatry by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. He is a board certified in the field of psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also the fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, the Australian Psychiatric Association, and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

Awards, honors, and grants achieved by Julio Licinio

Julio Licinio stood first in the State of Bahia Medical School Admission Examination by securing 99.76 percentile in 1977. He was awarded a research-based scholarship by the Visit-Provost at the Federal University of Bahia in 1982. This award is nearly the dream of every doctor. He was also a National Finalist in the University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine in Brazil. There he appeared in the Medical Residency Admission Examination by securing 98.3 percentile in 1982. He was declared as the Resident representative to the 25th Anniversary of American College of  Neuropsychopharmacology in the Cornell University Medical center, Westchester Division in 1986. He also received a Young Investigator Award in the International Congress on Schizophrenia Research in the year 1991.

Youth Investigator Award is addressed as the most prestigious award in everyone's eyes. In 1992, he got an Alma Foster Davis Investigation award by NARSAD(National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression). He has achieved the most unexpected award i.e. the Endocrine Society Travel Award in the year 1998. He delivered the most prestigious and memorable lecture in 2013 at Annual Eliahu  Youdim about 'Fostering Translational Research in Depression: The opportunities and pitfalls'. Julio Licinio delivered this lecture at National Institute for Psychobiology in Israel.
