Information On Julio Licinio And His Career

Julio licinio is the deputy director at SAHMRI and there he leads the mind and brain. He is specialized in pharmacogenomics. He is also expertise in biology of depression and has been editing books on both of these topics. He has published research on obesity and the link between depression, obesity and the antidepressants. Julio licinio lived in US for almost 25 years but received his certificate of MD from Bahia. He is always asked to comment on questions related to his field and mostly on science, research and academic development in general. He has written four books of reviews for science that involves a commentary in psychiatry. 

Personal information

Julio licinio’s wife is also an expertise in depression and pharmacogenomics. They worked together for 20 years and co-edited two books on the same topics. They have two children and they are above 18. Licinio was an assistant teacher of psychiatry in Yale University. He was then a unit chief at neurodocrinology branch. He was later a professor of medicine and psychiatry at Geffen medical school. He played multiple roles like founding director, graduate training in clinical investigation and also mentored scholars program. Julio licinio was also a temporary advisor at WHO and co chaired ten of the scientific sessions and meetings in seven different countries he also co edited ten books from those meetings and proceedings and they mainly focused on dysthymia.

Scientific research 

He has a great history in his scientific research career. He is known for his study and research in leptin and the role in promoting feeling of satiety. He has around 21000 citations and has published 240 papers in pubmed as well as written 12 books. He carried out extensive body work on pharmacogenomics in depression and it started in the year 2000 as a part of NIGMS. His research resulted in many publications on antidepressant treatment.
